RiverHawks sign infielder Jet Butler

04/23/2012 5:47 PM - LOVES PARK, Ill. - The RiverHawks have signed former Mets farmhand, Jet Butler for 2012.

After being drafted in the 26th round of the 2010 MLB Draft, Butler spent two seasons in the New York Mets' organization, playing in 2010 for the short-season Brooklyn Cyclones and last year for the class-A Savannah Sand Gnats.

Last season, Butler had a perfect fielding percentage, proving to be a good option defensively, playing games at first base, second base, third base and both corner outfield positions.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, the premier independent professional baseball league that will play its 20th season in 2012.
